"I'll bam it with my bammer,"

 said Spud Percussion Designs founder Mat Larson when he was no taller than a rack tom. Mat traded the toy hammer for a drumstick over 40 years ago, but the urge to take things apart and tinker with them never really subsided. Neither did the urge to tap on things and experiment with new sounds and rhythms. Now retired from engineering, Mat devotes his time to designing and building one-of-a-kind instruments and hardware to meet fellow percussionists' unique requirements.
